Lisa Kenner Grissom is an award-winning playwright, screenwriter, and producer. Her work explores complex social issues through intimate relationships—often through the lens of strong, complicated women. We loved hearing her story of making the decision to plant her flag as a writer, and we were so inspired by her openness to new experiences and her collaborative spirit. In this episode, we talked about the experience of turning her successful play "Tattoo You" into a short film, and the importance of working with a supportive, open-minded team. We also spoke about her most recent play, "Here Comes The Night," which is extremely topical in that it explores shifting identities, a woman’s right to choose, and female friendship in the digital age. Additionally, we enjoyed hearing about her teaching at Lesley University's low-residency MFA Creative Writing program. Lisa is an all-around talented, hard-working, and compassionate artist. We are certain you will be inspired by her honesty, relatability, and positivity. Enjoy!
