Positive Creativity Podcast

Nicole Franklin: Filmmaker, Writer, Educator, and Podcaster

Episode Summary

Nicole Franklin is an award-winning filmmaker and television news video editor with over 20 years of experience. She's also directed theatre, authored books and articles as both ghostwriter and as herself.  In this episode, Nicole shared what’s inspiring her (people watching in NYC!), and we learned she is quite the podcast expert herself! During the Pandemic, she started the Before You Go Podcast, a series of interviews with people 100 years old and over, and shared some of the amazing stories she’s heard so far. She also told us Title VII, the narrative feature she adapted, produced and directed (over the course of 8 days!) which grapples with violations of sexual harassment laws in the workplace. Moreover, we were so excited to hear about the children’s book she co-wrote with her mom called Ella’s Sunday Song, which explores Ella’s journey to discovering codes within Spirituals. Nicole is a powerful artist who is constantly creating, and her passion, warmth, and boundless enthusiasm shine through in this episode. We can’t wait for you to tune in to hear her story and more about her unique projects!
